Will it fit
my tap?

A quick look at your tap outlet will help you find the right fitting.

Check your tap

Start with the tap shape. Then check the connection.

01 / LOOK AT YOUR TAP

Start with the shape.

Check the outlet where the water comes out.

CHECK THE FITTING

The usual starting point. Check whether the aerator at the tip can be removed.

Unusual outlet

Square, oval, wide, very short or recessed ends need a closer look. A measurement alone won’t confirm fit.

02 / TRY THE THREAD FIRST

Remove the aerator.
Check the connection.

The aerator is the small fitting at the very end of your spout.

Included: M16 female → M22 male, plus a second male → M22 male adapter with an approximately 23.5 mm measured external diameter. The second adapter's nominal thread specification is not yet confirmed. Diameter alone does not confirm thread fit.

  1. 1
    Turn the water off.

Remove the aerator if it’s designed to unscrew. If it won’t come off easily, check the tap maker’s instructions.

  2. 2
    Look for a matching thread.

The diverter has an M22 female connector. Attach it to a matching male tap thread, or use a matching supplied adapter. Keep the sealing ring seated.

  3. 3
    Start the connection by hand.

It should turn on smoothly. Don’t force a mismatch. If the threaded fitting doesn’t fit, check the silicone option below.

03 / IF THE THREAD DOESN’T FIT

Measure the outside.

The universal silicone adapter grips around the spout.

UNIVERSAL ADAPTER RANGE16–25 mm

Outer diameter of the round spout

Measure the outer diameter of a round tap outletAn end-on schematic of a round spout. The measurement spans the outer left edge to the outer right edge, through the centre, rather than the inner water opening. Wateropening Outside edge to outside edge

End-on diagram · not to scale

A ruler is a good starting point.

  1. 1
Measure where the sleeve will sit.

Use the outside of the round spout at the outlet, with the aerator removed where possible.

  2. 2
    Go straight across the centre.

Read from one outside edge to the other, in millimetres. Don’t measure just the water opening or around the spout.

  3. 3
Check the shape as well as the size.

16–25 mm is the stated diameter range, not a fit guarantee. The sleeve still needs a suitable surface to grip and seal.

At the edge of the range? Not sure where to measure?

Send a photo with the ruler in view. Outside 16–25 mm is outside the silicone adapter’s stated range; it doesn’t rule on threaded compatibility.

THE SILICONE OPTION

Adjust the rings.
Secure the clamp.

Use this only if the threaded fitting doesn’t fit and the spout is suitable.

  • Loosen the metal clamp with a flat-head screwdriver.
  • If needed, remove the inner sizing rings using a flat-head screwdriver or pliers.
  • Fit the sleeve over the spout, tighten the clamp, then connect the diverter.

If it can’t sit securely or doesn’t seal, stop and ask for a photo check. Don’t force the parts.

A FEW QUICK ANSWERS

Before you fit it.

Is “universal” a promise it fits every tap?

No. The silicone adapter’s stated outer-diameter range is 16–25 mm. Tap shape, access and a secure seal still matter. Pull-out spray hoses and sensor taps are excluded by ClearDrop’s current guidance.

What if my tap has an internal or recessed thread?

The silicone adapter may provide an alternative because it grips the outside, rather than relying on the thread. Check the outer diameter and whether the sleeve can sit securely. A recessed or very short outlet needs a photo check.

Can I confirm thread compatibility with a ruler?

A ruler gives an approximate diameter, but won’t establish a matching thread by itself. Check the published fitting sizes and the tap maker’s details, or send a close-up. Don’t force a connection.

What else should I check?

Allow room for the filter and access to the diverter lever over your sink. Check the full specifications for dimensions and operating limits. After fitting, follow the installation and first-use flushing instructions.
